All the way from #taranakilikenoother Anyone who knows me know I am a compete coffee fiend and my favourite fix comes from @proofandstockcoffee Smooth and creamy by itself but just as delicious with a splash of actual cream (or oat milk if your me). With some brands, I really need to be in the mood for them but anytime is a good time for proof and stock. It's the coffee that holds your hand and welcomes you into the day. Never too bold or intrusive (perfect for the morning after a few too many proof and stock espresso martini's). If you haven't tried them yet, they do delivery throughout New Zealand. If you're passing through #newplymouth you can also pick up a bag of beans from their hella cute garage turned shop and roastery.

My fav at my fav. Happy mothers day mum. Lockdown has meant we've been swapping cocktails and dumplings for mulled wine around a fire at home, but we have fun all the same. Thank you for all you've taught me and sorry (not sorry) for constantly insist on putting chili in almost everything - even cocktails.
Hands up if you know what's good 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️ I am honestly obsessed with these @revivecafes choc and peanut butter hemp balls and could not believe my luck when I FINALLY found them in the @newworldnz Metro Takapuna (apparently I'm the only person on the shore who rates the chocolate over the jam - or maybe everyone rates the chocolate over the jam and that's why it's never in stock! But I digress...). I should probably disclose I'm not actually a big bliss ball fan and had nearly given up on bliss balls all together until @mybalanceproject got me onto these. Previously, I've found other bliss balls dry and bland but these bad boys are so delicious with a 10/10 dark chocolate taste which is topped off with a peanut butter stuffing. 2 of these little balls with a cup of coffee or green tea and all my cake or doughnut cravings are kept at bay. If you haven't given them a go yet, the hunt is definitely worth it. You should probably try the raspberry flavour for good measure while you're at it as well.
When it comes to comfort food, what's your happy place? Day 40 in isolation has got me craving comfort food and what better comfort food is there than Sausages Cooked in a Creamy Blue Cheese and Leak Sauce. Lockdown has been a crazy time filled with anxiety and uncertainty so this paired with pasta is currently my happy place. Food can be such a source of comfort so I'm here to remind you to be kind to yourself. It's okay if you've gained weight or indulged in your favourite "comfort food" a little too much. Just listen to your body and do what's right for you - both for your mental and physical wellbeing (I know this 10/10 creamy, blue cheese and sausage goodness is going to help with one of those)...

Anyone else can't believe its Sunday yet (or that it's MAY ALREADY 🤯😱)? 🍝 What I've been eating: I try eating as seasonally as I can so brussel sprouts have actually been a staple for me this week. Fried with bacon and garlic they're actually one of my favourite foods! 🥧 What I've been making: cinnamon buns - expect these bad boys on the blog soon. I've also had fun playing around with some Spanish style baked eggs and a fried chili and kale salad. 🤳Accounts I love following: @annaleekemsley - I don't care if we're in lockdown, I still wanna buy all the cute clothes, do a glam fancy Friday look and take care of my skin. She knows what's good and has helped me mentally keep a sense of normality through this very weird (and stressful) time. @ohmyfoodiegoodie - hooking you up with all the best places to eat. Honestly if I want to know what's open or delivering near me I just jump onto her account. She's done all the hard work so you don't have to. @ottolenghi - do you even need an explanation? It's Ottolenghi! 📺📚What I've been reading and watching: Nothing. I seriously need recommendations STAT!
If you know, you know 🤤 Me and Adam are having a cute date night in (cause where else could we go) so picked up a tub of my favourite @puhoivalley Authentic Greek Yoghurt with Caramel. I honestly think this bad boy beats 9/10 ice creams out there and pairs so well with salty popcorn sprinkled on top (trust me). Since its yoghurt I also don't feel *as* bad treating myself to some for dessert. Now all that's left to decide us what movie to watch with it...

Lockdown has seen me go through 3 of these jars of dark chocolate cocoa! Whether it's in a cake, brownie or even chocolate smoothie you'll always find me reaching for @avalanchecoffee dark chocolate cocoa. Being dark chocolate it gives a beautiful rich chocolate flavour while also being very affordable. Avalanche are also a New Zealand company so you're also supporting #nzmade when buying. While I sometimes use other brands, for the price Avalanche dark chocolate cocoa is a staple in my pantry. Next time you need to top up cocoa, make sure to give it a go
With everyone baking up a storm at home I was interesting to see what was trending on Belle's Kitchen. While I was expecting cookies or brownie to be number #1 it was none other my Beef Shin and Vegetable Soup! I don't know why I'm surprised as this soup is so delicious and perfect for these cooler evenings. I just couldn't resist - we're over halfway through autumn and avocados are still $1.49 each. Before the season comes to an end and they become $7+ for a single avocado (😭😭😭) thought I'd sneak in one more recipe. Can you guess what it is? Hint. Its accidental 100% vegan 😘
I just miss the little things in life, like going out for coffee...in Japan (while I'd be totally stoked with a coffee at an actually cafe right now, I would not turn down another trip to Japan when all this is over).
Still on that Apple Crumble Vibe! What have you guys guys been vibing during lockdown? I honestly cannot get enough of @zeffercider new apple crumble cider. I remember back in the day driving all the way to Matakana to grab a bottle of there 10/10 cider from the Matakana market. How they've grown. While it's a much shorter drive to my local @newworldnz to pick up my fav, the flavour and quality is still the same as it has always been and this new Apple Crumble flavour is the perfect drink to transition from those hot summer day to the cool autumn evenings. It honestly tastes like mulled cider in a can. If you haven't tried it yet, treat yourself this weekend - and remember, calories don't count during lockdown.

If you could eat anything right now, what would it be? As New Zealand draws closer to entering Lockdown Level 3, I can feel my mouth watering at all the delicious places working towards contactless delivery. While part of me is just as excited at the prospect of not cooking (even recipe bloggers need a night off, right?) I cannot contain my excited to bite into a juicy burger again or loaded fries. While I can easily make my own to die for doughnuts, some things are better left to the professionals and their deep fat fryers. Counting down the days - who else is counting with me? 🍔🍟🍩
